About this course

This course is designed to help you with setting up Alert Quality Management (AQM)  in your own account.

You’ll be shown examples of what to do and then you’ll be prompted to do the same in your own New Relic account. You simply need to pause the video and follow the suggested steps.

By the end of this course, you’ll have created a webhook notification channel which records detailed alert information for each alert policy in all the accounts you wish to monitor, and you’ll have created an AQM dashboard to allow you to monitor and report on your alert quality metrics.

By recording this additional alert information, you’ll be able to determine how effective your alerts are based on the level of practitioner interaction, and you’ll be able to determine alerts which are of little or no value, thereby reducing alert noise.

This will ensure that incident responses happen more quickly and that response teams are more confident that the incidents are real.

Prerequisite

You will need access to a New Relic account with data in it in order to maximize the value of this course. If you do not have access to a New Relic account with data in it, we’ve got you covered. Just complete the “Hello, New Relic!” course and you’ll be ready to come back and proceed with this one.
